I began sales at a very young age, prompting my siblings and cousins to scour the driveway looking for the prettiest stones to sell. Stones were not a great seller so decided (with some much added parental pressure) to move onto sweet corn as it was something that there was more of a demand for. From a 7am field pickin’ to a 10 am road-side drop off with a younger sister (as neither of us drove) and a pickup truck loaded with the season's best golden nugget, we would sit there til 6 pm daily rain or shine and smile at people stopping and those just driving by.
Born and raised with the family name Sylvestre, I was taught to answer the phone with pen in hand ready to take the topsoil order or a message for a potential customer looking for a side of beef or a pole barn to be built. From there, counter sales at our Manning Road Lumber store or Truss shop and even customer service at our storage facility. It was pretty clear that customers were always going to be important to me.
Licenced in 1990 as a Realtor I soon pursued the title of Broker and obtained that designation in 1992. Thirsty for knowledge I have completed the 4 courses required to obtain my CCIM designation and plan to write the final exam hopefully in the upcoming year.
With 32 years of experience, I have helped in Home sales, new home construction, vacant residential development and the sale of the lots, farm land sale, commercial leases and sales, industrial sales and even condo sales. My favorite accomplishment in Real Estate is the smiles on the faces of my clients and their families.
Outside of the realm of my business my greatest achievement is my 3 (now adult) children. As a single mom, the juggling of teen years and business, was at times, very exhausting, however, with faith, love and understanding we have come out shining on the other end.
I spent 2 years as president of our local Real Estate board and sat on both the Education Committee and the Commercial Committee of our Ontario Real Estate Association and I continue to volunteer time on a local level at the Windsor Essex County Association of Realtors.
In my free time I volunteer at my church and donate to 100 Women Windsor and the many charities they support as well as St Vincent De Paul and the Downtown Youth Center.
